Looking at an Allis HD3 gas dozer. Other than the normal wear and tear is there anything special to look for? Were these engines prone to cracking between the cylinder sleeve. Thanks Andy

Andy: The HD3 has a diesel engine, the H3 was the gasser. Post this question over at the Allis board, this is the same engine as the D-14 or D-15 (don't remember which), and they made a lot more tractors than crawlers. The HD3s, like mine, are tough. I've never heard of engine problems on them, just needs periodic injector and pump work. Hope this helps, Rusty
