Looking for some info on JD350 Steering clutches.
Do you have to take the fuel tank and hydraulic tank off to change the clutches? The service manual says you have to too get the clutches out but in another part of the manual it doesn't say that to get the final drive off. I can't seem to get the same answer twice, I am ready to take the drive off and I don't want to get into a problem so does anybody have a opinion on this?

The fuel and hyd. tanks do not need to come off. Have a service maual and beg borrow or steal a clutch hieght adjustment tool. Its very important to adjust the clutch arms hieght once you have reassembled the clutch assembly. I use long threaded rods and a floor jack to guide the final housings off the shafts without damaging things. Also it pays to have a large muscular friend to help you with the assembly once its detached from the frame. Crawlerheaven was a huge help with parts and advice to me regardless of his popularity with YT.

No, you dont have to, would make it easier to get a hoist in there if they were out of the way.
