On the Perkins 4,236 there is only 4 places that fuel can leak into the engine oil,one is a faulty injector, two is the thermo fuel glow plug in the manifold, three is the lift pump and four the injector pump.if you have no miss you can rule out the injectors,if you have no blue smoke you can rule out the glow plug, take off the two pipes from the lift pump, get a piece of hose and hold it tight over the inlet, hold your finger over the outlet and try to blow through it with your mouth,if you feel the pressure going away its the lift pump, take it off and try it again sumerged in some fuel you will see air bubbles if it is leaking,if it holds the pressure then its the seal on the injector pump shaft and it will have to be removed to have it replaced at your local fuel injection shop.

My first thought would be a hole in the lift pump diaphragm.

I had the same thing on a farm tractor one time. My trouble was the return fuel line above the valves. This copper line broke leaking fuel in with the oil above the rocker arms.
