I agree with Tim. You may have frozen steering clutches, brakes, planetary systems, final drives, etc.. Be patient, use lots of diesel fuel and penetrating oil on the tracks. I'm working on a TD340 that has been sitting for over 5 years. I finally got it to start and run after spending a month reading the manuals and tinkering. I finally rebuilt the injector pump with the help of the service manual. Now it starts and runs smoothly every time. Now on to the not moving problem. Good Luck. Jim

save your self a lot of time and money and just have the pins and bushings pushed and cleaned up and then put back in if the tracks are that good and sat that long you will NOT get them loss

I just came home yesterday after pulling a trailer 520 miles to pick up an IH TD340 that sat for 30 years,I had to come home with out it.The tracks can be loosened up alot quicker with some heat on each knuckle, beating and pounding until they free up and then use PB blaster or even some fuel oil,but be prepared because it might not be the tracks keeping the machine from rolling. The final drives may be froze and all the mechanisem inside too.

Not to give a short answer, but if the tracks are stuck that bad, I don't think anything short of having the pins and bushings pushed out and cleaned up and reinstalled is gonna do any good. That said the only thing I can think of that might do you any good at all is to get 5 or 10 gallons of PB Blaster and liberally soak them every day for awhile. In between soakings do whatever you can to move the tracks, be it pushing and pulling the machine to try to get them to turn, or hitting on them with a hammer, anything to help the Blaster work at breaking them free. I know it's a whole different ballgame, but I used Blaster last week to free up an accordian hinge on a door that the machine operator said hadn't moved in at at least 8 years. That said I know the Blaster is some good stuff, but I can't say if it will undo 25 years of rust or not. Good luck.
