Sometimes the Torque Converter builds up pressure in my dozer and other times it will not, and of course with no pressure no movement. Not sure where to begin looking. All ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks

This is usually an indication that the charge pump is worn and if you park nose down oil will not bleed back from the pump and you will generaly be able to move. Any questions call me at 314-966-6692 Steve.

Have you ever had seized U joints or blown a U joint ? If so check your torque converter output shaft (D37026) for run out. I've seen guys blow a U joint and bend that shaft about .025", or U joints seize up and force the seal open. There is a drain hole behind the torque converter seal to sump. It will on ocassion suck air at this point. Seen guys replace o rings, seals and it works for a while but every now and then it stops moving or will not move after being parked. Thanks my two cents worth.

i have the same problems at times with mine. first check the oil suction line from the botttom of the transmission to the pump, make sure you have no air intake or you wont get pressure to the torque convertor, also i discovered that if i parked it up hill i would not get pressure unless i primed the pump by filling the line between the suction line filter and the pump.the other thing i found was i was leaking a lot of oil from the torque converter i removed it took it apart and found a bad o ring which i replaced,so far no problem but i havent parked it up hill yet ill do that today to see if that took care of the pressure thing.if you remove the torque converter if its the older model 450 with out the flex plate becare full theres a ring gear between the converter and the flywheel made from fiber and youll break easily as i did make sure it stays in place on the fly wheel (it cost me 199.00 for a ring gear and 2.00 for the o ring)good luck butch
