If it's never had the old style vane pump changed over to a gear pump then most likely it is your pump giving out, it costs a good chunk to do it anyway. I'm not sure which skid-steer I would buy (presuming your buying new) I'm more familiar with the Bobcat line but would not buy a new one, the dependability has gone out the door since the addition of the computer that controls everything, found on the latest model G-series machines, I would just as soon have a C or F model Bobcat and do what maintenance it needed when it needs it, this is my opinion but I have been on the inside and saw 8 out of 10 new Bobcats come back in for some kind of electrical problem, Oh BTW the other 2 were hydraulic leaks LOL

Thanks for the reply, the machine has a hard time lifting, if you tilt the bucket forward a little it will let you lift a little more and so on. the problem is weird. What does it cost to change pumps and how much labor is involved? Buying a machine---- I was refering to a used machine for less them $10,000 I looked at a 610 with rebuilt engine and steering clutches $4000 .00 I thought that was a little high and not sure if it would have the power, or be able to use newer accessories for putting in my yard. I just bought 5 acres and need to move a lot of dirt. What are you thoughts on this? The 700 seems to move faster in low gear and has more pushing power then the 610. I was thinking a 773 would be nice Feel free to email me off line. Thanks for the help

Sorry I've been so long getting back to you we have had a death in the family, the best that I remember it costs around $700 to change over to the gear pump, the changeover kit will come with a new pump, a different mounting bracket and hoses, personally I wouldn't wish a 610 Bobcat on my worst enemy, the machine you have now is way ahead of a 610, the 773 would be a great choice for general duties around the place.
