The pedal that lowers the lift arms starting sticking on me big time. I've traced the problem to the valve. Is this a repair I can do (I'm a novice with some mechanical experience)or do I need to have a garage do it. Also, what can I expect if I pull the valve out to take a look. Any help would be appreciated. Please email me.

It could be a few things that are causing the sticking. One, it could be the valve, but it should be stiff in the up position as well as down. Are you pushing the pedal all the way to the detent or float position when lowering. If pushed this far the pedal will stick into the detent position for float, this is normal. Another thing to check is the safety bar that folds down in front of you. Make sure it is completely down or the linkage will only be partially released causing a sticky pedal. There are nylon slides on this linkage that wears out, causing the linkage not to disengage completely also causing sticky pedal feel. All this can be checked with the machine wherever it sits. Make sure the boom is blocked up securely if you are working on it with the boom up and you out of the seat.
