Does anyone have any ideas what causes a shuttle trans to stick in forward? I have tried disconnecting sol. electrical. and have inspected valves but they seem to be ok. It seems to be internal beings it will shift into reverse electrically but is also still in forwards at the same time.

Pull off the plug going to the forward/reverse solenoids, start up and if the machine is going forward press the nudge pedal if it does not stop it is like Greg and Bob said the clutch pack for forward is jammed up, it only takes one plate to break and get sandwiched between the others to cause it stay engaged. Agree it`s worn, like trashed. Usually what happens is the clutch pack will wad itself up in the hub and even when another direction is selected, in your case forward, it is engaged because of everything being jammed together. No way for it to go in another direction. It also unfortunately means a removal and repair from the inside of your trans. Good luck!!!!!

Gary, I think you might have a worn out forward clutch pack that has broken up and jammed solid. If it is try going up a grade and puting it into neutral. It might still drive up the grade if it's jammed. Does it load the convertor when you put it into reverse? Later Bob
