I recently purchased a HD6G that starts and runs and works perfectly. new rebuilt motor and hyds. But..... ..... .the thing will throw the left track off pretty easy, and the old adjustments screws are beyond stuck. Also welding is evident on a few of the links. I want to simply replace the tracks, new pins/bushings/ chains. I have a bunch of grousers from a hd5 to give me some bite. Is there a hyd. setup to tension the tracks? I need to replace the current setup since it doesnt work, and I want to be able to make the proper adjustments to ensure a longer life. So, I am in Central IL, where can I find parts? This is my first crawler, and I am learning as I go. BTW spent just a grand for the machine and it prepped 5 acres for me for my shop and soon to be built house, so should I sell it for parts, or invest some money to make her a long term worker. Any help would be appreciated

yes I am interested, I think my chains are shot though, several are welded up and a few are rusted so they dont roll smooth over the rear sprocket. The sprockets are in great shape. I had a friend that plays with dozers over, and he pointed out that the rear sprockets looked new and I have a stack of receipts from the prev. owner for the motor rebuild and new rear pinion work along with new rear sprockets. Don't know why they spent so much time and $$$ and put this ratty track back on. Yes I need the hyd adjusters and I really think as good as the rest of the machine is it needs to have new track and a way to keep em adjusted simply. One side is smooth "street track?" and the other is a combination of small grousers 1" maybe and street pplates. Seems like the smooth side is always spinning, would it be ok to equip this thing with small grousers all the way around? Email me with what it would take for me to just come up with a trailer, snag two new track assemblies 39 link I think and the hyd adjusters. I am in no hurry as I wont really have time to do this till spring. Also, seems to be a ton of slop on the front idler where it sort of rides on/against the front truck area. is it normal to have about 1/4" both sides? if not how do I fix it? Thanks Again sdreaper@yahoo.com
