Have a D4 with pin bushing wear but not completely through. I want to have them turned. There is a track shop nearby. Is it difficult? What is a fair price for this job? Thanks.

If there is a track shop close by, ask them to come look at the tractor. There are alot of variables involved such as dry or sealed pins, make of undercarriage, if the bushings are still have enough meat left to turn, roller flanges aren't hitting the pin bosses or if the rails need built up etc. When you have the pins turned, you will also have to replace the sprockets or segments. If it is a dry pin track and the bushings are still good, it will probably run$1500-$1800+ depending on the sprocket type you have.

turned mine on a td-9 similar size to d-4, I think $400 new sprockets were $300 each. I had good used sprockets so I slaped those on. like the man said other parts could use atenttion, you may want to have a friend look at it, if the bushings are nearly run through they will break when you try to press them. If the rails are like new you may want to install new pin&bushings to turn latter.
