I found a 74 IH 500c dozer with a bad motor. All i can find out is the motor is bad, no explanation on what is wrong with it or what it would cost to fix it. The undercarrage seems to be in good shape. I know nothing about dozers and would like to know the aprox, value of it with bad motor.
Thanks..

On those those were made in Canada. The value is in the Undercarriage and the rear end and not so much the motor. The condition of the blade and hydraulids will play a small factor in the value of the tractor

They are a later model tractor, and were capable in their day. There were not too many here on state side.

The ave price is between 2500-5500. The price range does not tell you condition of machine ect the higher price is for one that is running with a good UC and a 6way blade.

With the motor out, figure in salvage wt and so that would be around 1750-2200 max is what I would give for the machine.

I would agree that is to much a 60% UC is just getting into the rebuild section or head in to destruction. With the motor not fuctional, that makes this purchase all the more expensive.

Wait for a while, he wills still have it.
