Jim replace the bent unit with one of the newer style if possible. Deere changed the seal type along the way and the older seals wont work on the newer style shafts and visa versa. The newer style use a nylon bevelled type seal the older units used an O-ring type seal. However both will will fit the same bore on your adjuster. I dont have any I can part with but contact Ed at www.crawlerheaven.com he is very helpfull.

The end of the piston is too pitted to just replace the extension tube so Iam going to make a complete piston and tube. The JD dealer wants $230.0 for the piston, the barrel is fine all I had to do was hone the cyl a little bit

If the piston and seals are in good condition, all you need to do is weld a new shaft on. Extend piston wrap with wet rags to keep cool, no nee to take appart. Make shaft from tube of proper diameter, thickness and lenght.

Jim, I sell new aftermarket parts for some of the older JD crawlers. I'm sure I can get you a new rod for a bit less than the Dealer. Thanks, Nate

YOU MIGHT WANT TO TAKE IT TO A MACHINE SHOP ITS A SIMPLE PART TO TURN AND MIGHT COST LESS THAN A NEW OR USED ONE. JUST MAKE SURE THEY CHROME IT.

buy new. any used parts probably are bad or will soon go bad. I have wasted a lot of time looking for good used ones.
