hesitating when levers are pulled to steer, before it turns ,don't have a book on it yet,but I've been told it is activated with a hydraulic control valve or booster pump. Is there any adjustments or linkages involved.

Yes the clutches are released by way of hydraulic pressure thru a control valve but this adjustment rarely gives any trouble, when your operating it pull both levers or push both pedals (whichever setup you have) and the machine should stop pulling instantly, then play with 1 lever or pedal and see how far it goes back in until that side starts pulling again then see if the other side is the same, it could be that the brake band is loose this will throw off the timing of the brake band locking the drum after the clutches are released.

Your brake band adjustments will be behind a plate at the rear of the dozer, not the one directly behind the seat but the one below it, remove that plate then look on each side and find a small cover held on with 2 bolts it will have a hump in the middle of it where it slides over the adjusting screw to keep the screw from turning while the cover is on, tighten the screw a bit then check operation be careful not to tighten too much. I'm no help on a manual.

thanks , I ran it about an hour and it seemed the clutches and brakes started working better the longer I ran it.Mine is hand steer the foot brake that stops both sides when fully depressed don,t do anything it is also connected with linkage to the steering brakes it may only need a linkage adjustment. Thanks for your advice.
