Hey Tony, sounds like your turbo is bad. When they go bad one of two things usually happen. One- they lock up and don't supply any extra air which causes the engine to be overfueled because the fuel pump is still supplying fuel based on turbo conditions. This will make it smoke black, and is usually associated with an extremely noticable loss of power as the turbo is causing a restriction in the intake instead of adding air. 2- The bearings in the turbo are bad or going bad and have allowed the shaft to eat up the seals. This causes the engine to pump oil into it's own intake, past the turbo seals, causing extreme amounts of black oil smoke. In this case the turbo may still be working to some degree, and you may or may not see any power loss. The main thing you should notice is that it's using alot more oil than it should because it's burning it and sending it out the exhaust. Hope this helps. Wayne

Try the fuel filter? I used to remember it by Black smoke from Fuel filter and while smoke from air filter. For some reason the ol' Case engines would do just the opposite of what makes sense.
