I recently purchased a 40's IH dozer 4 cyl diesel and wonder if its a TD-6 and If that dozer takes the same engine as a Farmall M? Not sure if I know how to post a picture on here or not. Thanks Gary

If its TD-6 series it starts on gas and after warming up you switch it to diesel.setting in the seat look to the right of the aircleaner and the serial plate should be there. a farmall MD engine is the same as a TD-6 engine.

Thanks Clark That helps. I've done a little research and read about cracked heads being a problem from not idling them before shutdown. Do you by chance know if a M gas engine would interchange with the MD engine?

I would think that a gas M engine would bolt up but there wuld be problems connecting the hyd pump driveshaft. there would have to be some fabrecateing there. I would ask someone who knows more than i do about going from diesel to a gas eng.
