I worked on a small Komatsu about a year ago with this same problem, what I found was there is no way to grease the throwout bearing that slides on the bevel gear shaft and it was sticking, not moving far enough to fully release clutches. I had to remove the top cover, also removed the clutch pack before I saw what was going on, but then I was able to manually work the fork and get it freed up, penetrating oil and a pry bar got it back to working then put a little grease on the shaft where bearing slides, worked great when I got it back together.

I pulled the drain plug on the left side and it had @ a cup of water in it. It looked rusty what would you suggest. Do you know where the clutch adj bolts are, maybe Its too tight on the left side,it only releases under a leavy load.I see a plate on the top of housing and one on the rear can I get enough acess to clean through them without having to pull the clutchpack.

Theres not an adjustment for the clutch pack like your wanting, there is an adjustment on the fork that releases the pack, it will be behind the cylinder that is just under the control valve, but there again this type of adjustment rarely needs anything, your not going to have enough room to clean anything thru the plates you might be able to spray stuff in there and if it does work it will be a band-aid fix at best as most likely it will do it again.
