When i worked for my brothers company that all he'd run on his dozers and we cleared alot. They are sweet hings in muddy conditions and its not 2 hard to work around the stumps. Ithink the rail is standard hole pattern on most small machines in that size class. We later took some standard dirt pads off his D4 cat and put them on his 31 Komatsu. The sand pads should last a long time iff youll take your time and watch for tall stumps.

For what your talking about doing I think the wide pads would be OK. The main time wide pads are a problem is in rocky ground where they would tend to ride up on the rocks and side load the rails and other undercarriage components causing premature wear or breakage of the parts. I don't know what size pieces of iron ore your talking about, but even if it were in bigger chunks, as long as you were watchful of how you ran the machine it shouldn't cause any major problems. As for the sandy/swampy parts, I don't think you could do much better than the wide tracks.

Ok, the link didn't post for some reason. I usually don't have a problem posting the links, but once before I did, and was told by others thet YTmag cutting these links to eliminate competetion. If that's the case here, personally I think it's pretty sorry on their part, especially when they are farming oriented, and not construction equipment oriented and their site doesn't have the info I'm trying to get for you. So, here is the address this way..... undercarriage.ca/index.html..... .. also do a search for Berco, and it should bring their site up for you.

What tracks will interchange...I honestly have no idea off the top of my head. I know CAT has a book showing which of their tracks will interchange with other brands, and have been trying to get my hands on one for 2 years now, but I've been told it's no longer in print. My best suggestion would be to find a company like Berco, etc that specializes in undercarriage components, and they should be able to give you whatever information you need. I'll put a link on here for a site I found that might help you out. I've never done business with them before, but they have some good info on the site. Good luck. Wayne
