The herky-jerky motion when raising the loader is still there. The supply line from the transmission to the front pump is clear, the four pistons I removed from the pump show no sign of erosion, the hydraulic oil and filter, along with the screen in the priority valve and screen in the fitting of the front pump supply line at the transmission were removed and cleaned (practicaly no debris in the screens). What's next Jonathan, or anyone?

If the only problem is the loader-boom function, check the control valve segment for a lift-check valve. Some of the JDs have nylon lift-checks that get sucked into the valve body. If this is the case it would only affect whatever functions that particular spool controls.

Sent you an email...also..the charge pump on those machines is located forward of the main pump. Its easy to disassemble and look at the gears and housing...remove the plate on the front of the counterweight...or might have to remove the weight itself...I forget...also , if it is an internal high pressure leak that the pump can't keep up with , another source may be the relief valve in the priority valve. It should be located near a 3/4 inch or so small return hose with a 90 degree bend in it that connects the priority valve to the transmision case....that line should have no flow thru it unless the relief valve or seal for it is leaking...if that line gets warm , might want to remove that relief valve and check out the seals for it.

You could have a weak charge pump, an internal leak in the loader valve, hoe valve,or reverser bleeding off charge oil to the main pump.

Be sure to check all the suction lines for loose connections, anywhere air could be getting in. Could also be air getting in a leaky cyl. packing somewhere. You don't nessecarily have to have an oil leak to have a suction leak.
