I have looked at a Ford Backhoe that had burnt. All four tires went up. Don't know the model or year. But it looked like it might be from the 70s. I haven't talked to the owner yet but I was told he is trying to sell the land that it is on and would like to get rid of the hoe as well. It looks like the loader and hoe would still be good as well as the transmission, I guess. Would it be worth fixing back up if I can get a good price on it? Would the Block and Head and such still be usable once gone thru? What about the wheels? Anyone got a idea on what the parts cost might be? Got any idea what I should offer? Carl

I don't think you mentioned how long ago the unit burned and whether it had had any weather protection. A lot of the internals may have developed rust or otherwise become contaminated if the unit was open to the weather.

Thanks, If I could put it back together for 4000 that wouldn't be too bad. It would have ever thing new and I would know it inside out.

If all four tires went up then the fire was Hot. i wouldnt take a chance on any part...all the metal will be softer, the seals on almost every part will be gone or go real soon I would also assume that the hyd. hoses all burned off and the hyd. oil burnt..all very high heat producers. Well just my thoughts wish you good luck if you go for it.

I don't think the metal that didn't have the paint burnt off would be hurt, Cylinders and even the transmission look OK. I would replace all seals.
