I play around with crawlers quite a bit as many of you know and have always wanted an IH T4 crawler thinking it was quite small, had never even seen one but I recently had a T6 crawler and I gotta say this T4 crawler I just picked up is very comparable in size to the T6, does this sound right with you IH crawler buffs out there. The origianl tag is still intact and it definitely says T4 on it down by the starter. Has a 5 roller UC and probably has at least a 6 1/2 foot blade if not more. I always thought the T4 was quite smaller, even smaller than the T340. Let me hear from you guys.

T-4 weighs around 7000 lb.s and is around 32 horse. Similar in weight and power to the T-5 or T-340. The old T-6 (from the 40s) weighs around 8,000 lbs and has 35 horse, whereas the newer T-6 (from the early 60s) weighs 9200 lbs. and has 50 horse. All these weights are for bare crawlers, not accounting for dozer blades, or whatever.

The bare T4-T5 wieghs in at 4900 with a 4 roller track frame. My T5 with 5 roller track frame and all the options (3 point housing ,PTO reducer, and reverser)with no blade wieghs in at 6317.

I'm not an expert on IH crawlers, most of mine are AC and JD. I bought an IH T-5 with no attachments on it (the dozer had been removed). I wanted it just for the 144 c.i. diesel engine. I was hoping it would fit my IH B-275 wheel tractor. I had to weigh the crawler before paying for it since it was in a scrap-metal yard. Their scale showed it weighed 7,120 lbs. Looked similar in size to my 1010 John Deere and Allis HD-3.
