I got a very well kept Model of an Heil HT-35 Hydraulic Trailbuilder and the HB-35 Bulldozer . This Model was build between 1945 and 1948 . The scale of the model is aprox. 1 : 24 . Trouble is I do not know which toy manufacturer did build this unit and what color it original had . I would apiciate any help I could get , regarding the manufacturer and the original color . A picture of the original unit would be the best . Thanks Karl Haussermann

Karl, An ht-35 or an hb-35 are the Heil blades that mount on a BG Cletrac . Email, I have some pictures and an operator and maintenance manual. george

Hi Georg ! Thank You for Your reply . You did blow my buble , but You made me a little wiser by telling me that the "HT-35" and the "HB-35" is standing for some "Heil" blades . Now here I am again . I am in possesion of an older Earthmoving toy that consists of a Tractor and a earth moving bucket with a blade . Both units are conected together by meaens of a kind of a "Fith wheel" conection . The tractor has only two wheels and is counterbalanced by the bucket of the erthmover . on the tractor are two tires "Groundgrip Firestone 2100-24 Gum Dipped "The earthmover its self , again has only two wheels . "Earthmover Firestone 2100-24 Gum Dipped". The tires are made out of solid rubber . On the model they show a diameter of 4,1/4 inch . The model has a full moving mechanic attachement on the earthmover . The bucket is move able in its heights . The blade is move able into scrape position and comes up to close the bucket when the front of the bucket is coming down . After I got Your Re. I did look this toy over again . I do think now the scale it is build in must be 1:16 . It is a high grade toy made of heavy sheet metal . Its weight is at least 15-17 pounds . The name "Heil" is embosed on the hop caps . I would like to bring this nice toy of yesterday back to its original looks . But I do not have any idea about the original color of the machine , I don't know who manufactured this toy and by who the origal equipment was made . I think , acording to the hop caps it was a company named "Heil" I would be thankfull for any kind of help . Regards Karl .

Karl,
I have one of the earthmoving toys you're referring to. I'm not a collector, and like you I'm trying to find out more about it. It was given to me for Christmas in approx. 1950. Commonly called a "scrapper", mine is in excellent original condition and is red. The wheels are yellow, and each of the front hub caps on the trailer have "HEIL" on them. I believe the heil refers to a company that manugactured real construction equipment and truck trailers, not toys.
I also have a orange carryall that I likewise recieved as a X'mas present in 1949. All original and the same scale as the red scraper. It was manufactured by the Charles Company, and has a sticker on it that says "Euclid, The Pioneer". I don't know that its the same manufacturer, but I'm trying to find out more about it as well.
I have seen examples of the scraper you and I have in Antique stores (one completely rusted which the guy wanted $400 for), but have never seen an example of the carryall I have.
I have not hidden my e-mail address, so feel free to send me an e-mail direct and maybe we can share information on this. I'll take a digital photo of mine and send it to you if I hear from you.
