I owned a 912 Liebherr, that I sold last january and it was a good machine. Built in France with a air cooled German built fuel efficent Deutz engine. You get used to braking the swing by reversing the direction and holding your mouth a certain way. They sell for about 25% of what most other brands cost. Good luck Alvin n Ms.

THe first exccavator a ever operated was a Leibherr, I didnt like the lack of an automatic swing brake after I ran a 230 Mitsubishi It had one to hold it while traveling or seting pipe but it was hard to get used to loading trucks after the Mitsubishi. Ithink I was 11 when I operated it it one of the perks of goin to work with dad. Now Im 23 and have run alot of cranes and the lack of a swing brake can be overlooked but its still nicer to me to have. My neighbor has a 924 rubber tired excavator and its the ame way. Its not a big problem on level ground but when you get on a slope you have some problems with the free swing.
