I have a 1952 TD6 the manaul shows a master link with a wire locking it in . Mine has no such Pin they all look the same . Did they make one with some other type of master link ? The track on mine is real good like it was replaced not too many hours ago . Is it possible the track is newer modle than the doser? Thanks for any help you can give me, truckbummer

The cotter pin should be on the inside. The master pin should look normal on one side. Also, the cotter pin may have come out and the hole filled with dirt making it hard to spot. -Greg

Most of the newer style track rails I've seen have one of two types of master pin/link setup. If yours has a newer set of rails, I'd say first look for a pin with a dimple in the face of it. This usually denotes the master pin. It's also a posibility that it's an alligator style master link where link is split in two halves. Each half has serates that catch on the other half and are held together by the same bolts that hold the pad on. In this case look for a diagonal line across one of the links where it is joined together. Another common thing to see is a master pin that has was loose going in and has been welded. It may or may not have a dimple, just look for a bead of weld around the face where it protrudes through the link. Good luck finding your link, I know it can be a royal pain sometimes.
