I recently bought an older John Deere 350 dozer. I need some used parts--track pads and such. Also, I'm having trouble with power. Replaced the steering clutches and one pressure plate, but dozer still won't pull engine down under load. Could clogged reverser filter cause slippage? I hate to tear into main clutch. Thanks.

there is no engine clutch if it has a reverser...does it slip in reverse too ?? if the steering clutches are good and adjusted properly then I would tend to think its in the reverser...and if the filter is plugged ...its probably with parts of the reverser clutch disc facing material

...just another note...the reverser is pretty easy to rebuild once it is removed...
