I bought a case 580k repo on a as is basis. The entire machine was sanded. We are down to the engine that is ruined, including the block. Does anyone have a junk machine with a rebuildable or good engine. We have bought 3 from salvage yards and still haven't gotten a good runner.

The government is selling a couple 4 cylinder cummins engines at internet auction at Rock Island IL this month. Searh governmentliquidation.com for Rock Island IL

What engine does a 580K use? I've got a good 207D that will directly replace a 188D. I was going to put it into my 580CK, but don't know if I'll ever get to it.

I want $1500 for the 207D engine, but I'd rather sell the whole mess . . . that is the 580CK loader/backhoe with the original blown 188D and the replacement 207D - all for $2400.
