industrial bellhousing adapter

anyone know if someone makes a adapter for putting a #3 sae converter housing on a #2sae bellhousing all it would need to be is a ring with the right bolt holes tia mike

Mike , be careful there. If you add an adapter plate the converter drive splines might not get a good grip in the flywheel. Or if you have a flex drive plate the the tangs on the back of the converter might not get a good enough grip on the trans pump. This could get real expensive if you don't get things right the first time. Try to get hte right flywheel housing now. Later Bob

this setup uses a flat drive bolted to the flywheel so i can space out the drive flange same as spacer plate adds thanks mike

Mike, sounds like you have a flexplate drive. That will work fine as long as it doesn't need a pilot in the center of the flywheel to stabilize it, just check that out and then go ahead as you plan. You could get a machine shop to make an adapter for you if you can't buy one locally. Later Bob
