I am looking for a manual for my USTRAC dozer. I have nothing except the hood ornament that says it is a USTRAC. I need to know what kind of oil goes into a gear box that has two sets of drum clutches.

Ed gave you a good link to get info on that machine but they did not use same steering as terra trac or oliver that was a whole different deal had to do with cletrac and clark then ATC buying clarks crawler parts and tooling then case bought terra trac but buy then oliver was using 4 speed and did not use the clark 3 speed but USTRAC used steering clutches like a deer or int. but ran them in oil and also had reverser in oil i have a clark airborne and also terra trac's the only thing the same is undercarriage If you email me i can send you link to my site

The USTRAC used the same Clark transmission that the ATC Terratracs used. The USTRAC is actually the predecessor to the ATC Terratracs. In 1951 ATC recommeded GL-1 90wt lube oil. You can buy it at some Walley World Stupid Centers for about $22.00/pail. BTW, they don't use drum clutches, they use band brakes. The planetary is an open differential that has a drum for each side. When you pull the steering lever back, you are applying the brake for that side just like on most farm tractors with separate wheel brakes. HTH Edward

Sounds like you know something about these dozers. I know practically nothing. The clutch assembly I am referring to is between the transmission and engine. It contains a fork of sorts that is slid forward and backward using a lever located in the rear left side of the operators area. It contains two sets of what looks like clutch plates from an automatic transmission. I assume it makes the dozer go forward and reverse. Please e-mail me I would like to talk further.

I'm sorry, you are correct about the clutches. You are referring to the reverser. ATC Terratracs never had a reverser on them. I thought you meant the planetary in the transmission. The Clark CA-1 had the same reverser in it. See link. Sorry about the mix-up. Will send an email about USTRAC. Edward
