I'm leaking around a qt an hour from the hyd pump on my D4 7U dozer. It looks like I'll have to remove this big monster to find out. None of the lines seem to be leaking. Is there a seal that typically leaks? It appears to be towards the bottom but I can't really tell. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!!!!

My D4 had the same problem. The seal is leaking around the pump drive shaft. You will need to remove the front guard if installed. Next remove hydraulic lines and control rod. Finally ther are 4 bolts holding the pump to the radiator suprort. Once these are removed, support pump and pull the pump out of the splined shaft. The seal can be purchased either through CAT or at you local bearing house. The local bearing house will need dimensions. This sounds involved, but it is not to bad.
