How do you adjust winch on D4 7U? wants to kick in

None of the manuals I have with my D4 address the following problem: The lever that engages the winch either in wind or unwind is located under the seat. All was fine until I used it the other day when I got stuck. Now, the neutral position on the lever is so minimal that it tries to engage slightly causing a racket that at first made me think I had torn up the rear end somehow. It has a small foot on the end that is supposed to keep it in neutral. I can move it with my hand and it's fine for awhile. Is there an actual way to adjust the neutral position making it wider? Make sense to anyone? Thanks!

Hi, Denjoe. You say the linkage for your winch is under the seat of your D4. That is a notorious place for rubbish collection, especially dust and small sticks. Have you checked to see that the linkage is free to travel its whole movement? You said it was fine until you used it 'the other day'. This leads me to think that when you moved the control to engage it, something dropped in behind some part of the linkage restricting its return to the proper neutral position. Hope this helps. You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
