I just finished replacing sttering clutches and pressure plates and brake bands on both sides of my 350B Everything has been adjusted just like the manual said to. My problem is that it turns to the right with no effort on the lever at all but when you try to turn it to the left you have to pull the lever all the way back until it will lock up the brake and if you back up and try to turn it takes two hands to turn it. I have checked lever free play and have adjusted it over and over and come up with the same result, could the steering cyl on the left side be bad? I am missing something? all the steering parts plates , discs and bearings are brand new. Any info on this problem would be appreciated thanks

I had the same problem on my 450B. A seal was bad on the final drive and let oil get on the clutchs and the brake bands.

When you were stacking the plates and discs in the drum , did you make sure you placed a fiber (internal splined) disc in first, then a steel plate, then the center hub with the large snap ring on it , then kept stacking alternately , plates and discs??? If you put the center hub in first and then started stacking the components in , that large snap ring on the outer diameter of the center hub is acting like an additional fiber disc...I've seen that happen before....but if thats not the case, then I would guess something maybe overlooked in adjustment ?? The steering cylinders just are a power assist...the older machines didnt have them ...just required added effort, but not like you describe...
