making rubbing noise when braking, also having to pull too hard to get them to activate. Any ideas on on how much time and money I'm looking at to replace.

They may just need adjustment. Tighten down (there is a spec which I don't have in front of me) and then back off 4 turns. The end caps which give you access the the adjusting nuts, also serve to prevent the nuts from turning on their own, so make sure the nut has two sides perpendicular to the ground before you reinstall the cover. Mine are rusted tight, so I ordered two new ones (nuts) and plan to use heat, along with a 3/4 breaker bar, which by itself has not worked. I also got a jar of never-sieze. Hope this helps. Mine is a D21P-5, but I think the clutch/brake end is almost the same as your D20, except the bevel comes in from the opposite side, which shouldn't matter as for the brakes. I've got a ROPS coming in next Tuesday from Moore in TN, $750 plus $185 for shipping to CA. Must have some serious steel in it .. Fedex says 300 pounds. Gotta be better than the surrey cover it came with. Good Luck. Attaboy

do you know if the brake adjusting bolt can be removed and replaced to lubricate from the inspection hole without the band assembly swarming inside the housing?

Hi Ray.I replaced similar Mitsubishi plates without too much fuss. The Komatsu has a better clutch set up & less plates. You'll do it yourself as long as bolts are in OK condition(not badly rusted).I had steering trouble with a Mits.BD2G & found that the steering /clutch oil had drained out of a cracked steering pipe.
