I purchased a 1989 D3C LGP dozer with 2508 actual hours on it. Just used it. When the transmission is cold the 2nd gear works. So I thought every was find with the dozer. When the transmission is warm, worked for a while, the 2nd gear does not work, it's like its not there, goes from 1st to 3rd gear. The transmission is the 3 forward & 1 reserve version. Does any one have an idea whats wrong with the transmission?

Robert, the seals are leaking on the clutch piston most likely. The oil leaks more when hot and you don't have enough pressure to lock up the clutch. You should fix it before you wear out the plates of 2nd speed clutch. Later Bob
