I bought a TD8E (1975) this past May and have run a tank and 10 gallons of fuel through it and the transmission has stopped working. it first slipped in F1 then will only try to move forward in r1 now. i have 160 main pressure that drops to 120 when you put it in any gear and 75 forward pressure and 75 reverse pressure. Any advice would be appreciated. I bought it as having a freshly rebuilt transmission if that helps any. Thanks Taylor

your pressures are low, could be caused by an internal problem or bad seal rings in the collector housing on the end of the trans fwd/rev shaft.a good mechanic familiar with these can do a proper test and possibly save you a lot of $.

Sounds like trans problems machine should not move forward in reverse ranges - sounds like forward pack is staying engauged. Could be pack is welded together from slipping or oring on seperator plate is bad. Main pressure should only drop 5 - 10 psi when in gear
