I just recently bought this dozer and has run fine until a cooler morning last week. I turned the key backwards and used the glow plugs, for the first time, for about 5 seconds. The battery light lit up as I held the key. I then tried to start the dozer and it turned over once and went silent. No clicking of the starter or anything. The battery light doesn't light up anymore if try glow plugs. I've cleaned the battery connections up as well as the positive cable on the starter. Headlights and back light shine brightly so batteries have juice. No sound at all from starter when trying to turn over. Any ideas? Thanks.

Check the voltage across the battery first. Sounds like a dead cell.

Sitting in the seat of the dozer, looking at the dash panel, you will see the two warning lamps on the left side, for oil and charging. Just above them is a small removable plate. Behind this plate is your fuse block. Check your fuses first and if okay, put a volt meter on your ignition switch and try the pre-heat and start position to see if you have current flow. If not then your problem is between the switch and the battery. The glow plug wire in the dash can be broken or burnt in two, but this will not affect the starter. A non functioning glow plug just makes the dozer harder to start in cooler weather. Check and clean your ground wires, one could have corrosion or be loose. Hope this helps!
