Did IH ever build a crawler that was smaller than the T-6? I was wondering if they ever built one using the CUB, A or C motors and frames?

Marvin, I.H. produced a T340, based on the 340 farm tractor. very similar to what Ford did with some of its smaller AG machines. Basically they put the engine, tranny, & sheet metal off of a 340 onto a small set of UC. Steve

yes, circa 1960 the t4,5 and td5 were ih's smallest crawlers, know as compact farm crawlers. go to tractor photos and search t4. mine is pictured there, 4 feet wide, 9 feet long, 27hp at 5000lbs.

Mike; Very nice looking crawler. Do you know how many of them were built? Are parts still available? Does it use the C123 engine?

we don't know how many built cause built in canada and records can't be found. from the registry we don't have a number above 4000. most parts are around, engine parts for sure, yes ,123 combine engine for the t4, 135 for the t5 and the b275 diesel in the td5. the early ones were ag red and the later ones came yellow. the 500 crawler replaced these in 1965.
