I have over hauled the engine in my TD 7 Dresser, and sent the fuelpump and injectors in for rebuild however I am not real sure on how to set the fuel pump timing. I do not have a manual to refer to. Is there some one who could guide me through this????

Hey, Thanks Jim. This will help me "get it together''. I have the C series dozer / D205 / power shift. I did run into another item that puzzles me, and that is the configuration of the water jacket in the head. The water ports do not line up with the ports in the block. There looks like there is plenty of meat around the ports in the head so I was thinking about drilling the head to line up the block. Have you ever run into this?

Which series TD 7 do you have - the Cseries with the D206 and power shift trans gets timed at 10 BTDC, the C series with gear drive gets timed at 12 BTDC. If you have the E sries with the D239 it gets timed at 12 BTDC. Time it up with timeing marks on front dampner - with it on TDC shuold be able to turn both push rods on #1 cylinder if not turn another turn. Turn backwords to about 30 degrees BTDG then turn to correct timing. Line up the timing marks in the pump and install.
