anyone ever done direct driveshaft brake band adjustment that I believe works in conjunction with the clutch release pedal, mine seems to be freewheeling too long which causes gear grinding when changing rapid front/back directions.

First thing.....buy an operator manual. It pays for itself over & over.My Mits BD2G book says it needs 2.5 secs to stop at full revs, but a short pause at neutral always does the job. Also,if it's low houred, you really have to be right in the gate when shifting.Treat it good & it'll do likewise!

thanks jim,you all have been a lot of help getting the bugs worked out until I get my owners manuel. The reason I was curious when I had the floorplate off I noticed this brake band type thing around the driveshaft that I figured was linked to the clutch linkage to help bring the machine to a stop to shift without gear grinding so much. I think the d-20 komatsu is a well built machine. Ray
