1941 D-7 with gas starter slips in high range, works fine in low. I was told that you can adjust the starter clutch, but I can't see how. I have a few manuals, but they do not address this issue. Any help would be apprecited!

Remover the inspection plate from the clutch. Inside there will be a spring loaded pin. Pull out on the pin and rotate the drive unit. Make sure the entire bendix does not rotate. Not sure which direction it moves to tighten ( shouldn't take long to figure that out). Once it starts to rotate release the spring loaded pin so that it will slip back into the next hole. Dan
