I'm considering buying what I think is a 440, for firewood and lot clearing, but the current owner isn't sure what the make and model are. I've seen only pictures he e-mailed and it looks like a relatively compact Deere with tire size 18.4X26. He also gave me the serial number (M63TA159152T). I'm 500 miles away from this tractor and want to find out if it's worth the while for me to make the trip to look at it. It's the best deal I've found in a six month search for a cheap skidder. Any leads as to what the make and model are and what I should should look when inspecting it would be much much appreciated.

John Deere made a 340D in the eighties. It had 70hp,276 cubic inch engine that will pull anything. With standard wheels it only stood 92.4 inches wide and a hydraulic-lock differential in the front and a solid axle in the rear slopes arent a problem.Any more ? Mail me.
