I'm going to look at a TD5 tomorrow that I'm told is in good condition. The undercarriage is supposedly at 90%. What would be a resonable price to pay for this? There is no blade but there is a PTO & a 3-point hitch. Is it possible to get a back-hoe attachment for this tractor? Also, does anyone know how heavy this is as I have to find a way to either tow it or hire transport to my ranch.

I paid $1.500.00 for mine eight years ago and had to rebulid both steering clutches. Mine has a manual outside six way blade. It weighs 6,500lbs. I tow it on a tandom axle dove tail trailer with electric brakes. As far as a back hoe goes. You could buy an after market possibly a Bradco. If your tractor does not have a speed reducer gear box bolted onto the rear and splined over the pto. You will need to replace the backhoe pump with a 1000 rpm pump because the tractor is 1000 pto rpm.

I just sold my TD5. It had a Drott loader on it and no 3 pt. hitch. I had the original manual for it and with the loader and bucket attached was just under 10,000 lbs. I am sure it was much more because my 10,000 lb trailer sank when I pulled on.

You could put a three point aftermarket backhoe on but I think T-4 and T-5 had 1,000 rpm pto only which might be aproblem for bachoe pump.

nobody knows for sure, numbers ran with t5s and td5s, records are supposed to locked up in a museunm in canada. I started the registry for them afew years back, and turned it over to shawn early this spring. i havent heard much from shawn lately and his t5 web page ain't working anymore. i can send you last years newsletter if you wish. These were light duty ag tractors, no back-hoes, weight is determined by gauge, no. of rollers, shoe size. my 4 roller, 38" gauge with 10" shoes weighs 5000lbs. go to tractor photos and search t4.
