Does any body here know how to drive one of these things. I got it at an auction today for $120 I figure the engine is worth that plus it has a couple big cylinders and a hydro. pump vicker vane pump set up for belt drive. I'm thinking about driveing it home but not sure how to drive it and weather or not it will climb 2 hills that I would have to go up to get it the 5 miles home. how well will they go on a gravel road and will it climb a steep hill or just spin on the gravel. Thanks for any and all help

Old, Are you going to sell it, part it, or what? I've been watching for a roller to use to keep up my private road on my place. I don't need anything fancy, just runable and cheeeee p. Where abouts are you?

I bought it for parts for my Cletrac HG I needed the starter and for $120 that was cheap for the starter and all the rest of it is gravy, And it even purrs like a kitten. The guy that hauled it gets the rollers off of it and not sure about the rest yet. Sorry By the way I'm in Missouri

Hey Brian it isn't a grader its a roller, Some people still call them steam rollers, or asphalt rollers. It has a 6 cylinder continental engine with Mag. type ignition. It steers with a big hydro. cylinder in what I think is the back and when you are sitting on it you are up about 6 foot in the air. I'm just not sure those 2 big steel cylinder that drive it will have much traction on gravel

Old; Duh boy was I asleep on that one. Doubt it will have enough snort to climb much of a grade let alone traction.Dont think I would take a chance without something larger prefferably with tracks hooked to it!! Brian
