Anybody got a JD450C Control Valve?

During the course of some repairs I made on my JD450C dozer, I damaged my control valve. I got sloppy and allowed the relief valve poppet to come out of the valve while I screwed in the assembly. It put a couple of small nicks in the poppet seat and now the valve makes a loud racket and the oil heats. Don't know how or if the seat can be restored so am looking for a used piece. Its the 6415 dozer (hyd lift and tilt) JD#AT39626. Thanks.

Hi Jonathan, Curious if you did have that control valve and would want to sell it. I think I'll try to smooth the nicks down with valve grinding abrasive and a sacrifical poppet but I don't give it much chance. A real bother to test by reinstalling the valve also. I do now see the most efficient procedure however! Steve had responded to my first message and said that the seats can be replaced. These look like they are machined into the housing. By the way, I did operate the dozer long enough to see I conquered my finals leaks which got me started with this project. Getting the master pins out gave me fits as they had been heavily welded in place. The galling left me no choice but to re-weld them. This spring I'm going to change out the rails and I'm going to cut a link with the torch to remove the tracks. Thanks for the help. Byron

That seat can be replaced. Refer to your service manual,it will give you the instructions on how to do so.

Hi Steve, Don't see anything in the Technical Manual about replaceable seats. One sentence in the repair section on the valve says "check poppet seats integral with housing for wear or foreign matter." Is there another manual with closer detail? I've got the parts and tech manual. Thanks, Byron
