I just bought a nice Ford 655C backhoe near Atlanta, GA and need to get it back to my house in RI. Having difficulty finding a shipper (at a reasonable price). Any ideas? Thanks! Jim

I purchased a CAT D3 LGP in New Hampshire and had it trucked to Minnesota by Carl Hillof Cumberland Maryland, Email cphill@intrepid.net. Good Man, low price, very satisified.

Call Dave McNish at MCN Enterprises. 1 877 262 5529. MCN is in the Charlotte, NC area and can run anywhere.

Jim - A fellow by the name of "Jr. Bradley" runs the east coast. He may be able to do the haul. His cell no. is 1-302-222-1162. Or maybe even better is a man by the name of "Lester". He has done many hauls for me. His number is 1-740-704-5242. I need to get a tractor to Connecticut, and Lester may be able to combine loads. Not sure...give him a call. Feel free to use my name. -Jon Cole

You might try calling Hot Shot Express ( Div. of Jones Transportation). They moved a Unimog, 10ft. snowplow and sander from OK to RI for me. It's not cheap to move big items any distance, but if you want to play you have to pay. Do a search for Jones and I think you'll find Hot Shot. Also try an ad on the Hauling Schedule list on this site.

Hey Jim did you find the Ford backhoe in the Heavy Equipment Trader magazine? I've seen lots of them in there and have considered checking one out, but they're so far away from my locale(probably about 400 miles). I'm looking for a larger Ford backhoe with 4WD and a 4-1 bucket and enclosed cab, and heard the Fords were good. Anyway is that what you did, buy it out of the Trader mag and now need to ship it? Be interested to hear what the backhoe and the seller was like. If it sounds allright maybe I'll go down there to check one out...let me know what you think. Thanks, Sean

Sean - I bought the backhoe on ebay. Reason is it's the only forum where there is a direct indication of historical seller honesty (rating system). There is a good variety of units on there, and enough market inefficiencies to snag a great deal once in a while! Problem is I still don't have it here in RI. Good luck, Jim
