I have what I believe to be a T-5 dozer. Its got a 4-cylider diesel engine and a gearmatic winch. The serial number is H687TS and the motor number is 3040912R4. I want to know what make and model year this is so I can purchase the appropriate manuals. There's a photo link below. Also, the blade wont lift in the cold (sub freezing weather), and would be interested to hear your thoughts on why that's the case. The blade is not stuck to the ground. Your input is appreciated.

I'm not much of an expert on serial #s...could it be a 500?Is there any way of identification by looking for features like T/A ,clutch size, etc? The 500 leaflet I have shows lots of blade/logging/hoe options. The winch is possibly a #9 gearmatic. Is the H a blade number? Some bullgrader blades start with H. Sorry...I think I raised more questions than I answered.Good luck.

my comments made on oct30 are posted with photo. they are still correct. i have some td5 skidder manuals. i'll get back to you. i think your hydraulic oil is to thick and the filter needs cleaning. DO NOT THROW THE FILTER AWAY, aren't available anymore. best not to do anything till you get books. if its a diesel its got to be a td5. t5 s are gas. same tractor except for engine. i'm not sure about skidder serial numbers but i think the tag should read with model td5 then serial number687ts, i never seen a h in the serial number registry i started 5-6 years ago for these little tractors. maybe when they made a skidder out of it the orignal tag was removed. i have other skidders on list that have normal s/ns. after the holidays i'll try to look more info i might have. good luck.

does it have bogey wheels and track like one sees on bobcats these days? what serial number did you post ? winch or tractor? it doesn't read like the tractor s/n. if it does have bogey wheels its a log skidder like you think. if not it should look like the t4 posted in tractor photos on the left, search t4. your link ain't working. tractor s/n tag is riveted on right side of engine bellhousing under the battery, most aren't there anymore because of the battery droppings. good luck.

That is the S/Nn that is on the decal rivited to the engine block below the battery. I had someone tell me that the "TS" suffix stands for tree skidder. Sorry about the link. Thy this Link Alternatively, go to the "Help Identify" gallery to the right, and search for "gwinnibarge". There's only one picture in there. As you'll see, its almost a half-track. Thanks again.
