A Log up the rear end of the ol' 955

Managed to run an 8 inch log up the backend of the 955L, wedging it in firmly, and ripping out the fuel line from the bottom of the tank. Ran an entire tank of fuel out on the ground before I even knew what happened. So, of course, I ran her out of fuel, which is how I discovered what I had done. So, a couple of questions: 1. How do I re-prime the fuel line to get it restarted? I understand that diesels are very hard to start after running dry. 2. There are two fuel line attachments on the bottom of the tank. One was running fuel out of it, the other one was dry, but both appear to have been sheared off by the log. What is the dry one for? I can't find a second loose line or fitting. Any help here is appreciated...haven't received my manuals yet, expecting them any moment now. Thanks in advance for you help! Stan in So. MO

Still haven't received my manuals, sent off for them a couple of weeks ago. I doubt the manual says not to ram a log up the rear end. But it is good advice, of course. Stan in So. MO

Two lines going foreward. One is supply to the engine and the other should be the return line for excess fuel,It has a stand pipe in the tank so it cant siphon.

One of the fittings is for the fuel line, the other is a sediment/water drain. There is only one fuel line. Both should have valves on them. Get them fixed, and put fuel in the tank. Remove the fuel filter and fill it with clean fuel and reinstall it.On the fuel filter housing there is a round knob, unscrew it and pull it out. This is your primer pump. Start pumping(in and out) After pumping, you should start seeing fuel pressure come up on the guage.(you will start to feel some resistance) Try cranking it over,if it doesn't start you may have to loosen 1 or 2 of the injector lines at the pump and crank it over until fuel appears at these fittings. Tighten the lines and crank it over,it should start. Don't forget to push the fuel primer back in and turn it until snug.

Lucky that tank was almost empty, so not much fuel spilled.
