Thanks, Steve. These are not for sale (at least not right now). The 0987 belongs to a buddy, and when he bought it, they told him it was an '88 model. When I bought mine (02247) as an '84, it just didn't seem right. Do you happen to know if D3B has an adjustment on steering clutches? And if so, how to do it? Thanks again. Jim

I'm not to sure about the D3, however the D3b I am. I have a D3b-LGP and on my machine it's a fairly easy, yet time consuming job. If you remove the seat and cover plate, you should see all your pedal controls. If you look about halfway back on the left and right side you should see 2 plates that look oval with 2 bolts on each holding them in place (I know 1 is almost under the hydraulic tank). Remove 1 from each of them and loosen the others. Spin the plates out of the way. You should see a shaft that has a 6 point bolt head (You may need a flash light). You'll need a 9/16 socket and an extention. Now, how, I've been adjusting them is tighten them down then back off 2 full turns. The manual may say different so I'd double check that adjustment. Oh, 1 thing to add be sure your socket locks on to your extentions, seems people like to lose sockets in those chambers. Remember my settings aren't by the book so I'd call a cat repair center to double check, also I have a D3B-LGP, with wet brakes. That might make a difference.

How much force is required to turn the adjustment on the brakes? I tried with a small 3/8 rachet and could not budge them one way or the other.
