Thank You. I'm looking at this dozer on the net for sale. Claims is in good shape except that has blow by and smokes quite abit and always has. Do you know if this is the year they used a dry sleeve in the Cummings" Would you be afraid of that motor if it had no oil in raditor, nor water in oil and did not miss? Thanks again DG

In all the case equipment we sold never heard about a cummings engine with sleeve. If this engine has sleeve it may well be that the block had crack or damage and they put liner in but as far as i can recall Case never sold any cumming engine with sleeve. Smoking is hard to figure out it could be the air cleaner is dirty or the injector need cleaning or the injector pump itself or it could also be rings in the piston. If you pay a certain price and allow yourself a few thousands dollars of repair then it might bed a good buy but is most important ;on that model of dozer was the valve underneath the seat the one for the transmission. thed problem with most of them if the modification was never made after 6 or 7 hours then the transmission does stop on you till it is cold again.
