I bought an old John Deere Dozer which I think is a 350, but I don't know how to know for sure. The only metal tag on the machine is by the blade levers and it has taken a lot of beating over the years and is not readable. Any ideas?? I need to find out about the steering, it pulls straight but will only turn in one direction. Thanks

if it is a diesel and has 2 cyls it is likely a 440. there should be an id tag infront of the steering levers , midway down the dash.

It is a 4cyl diesel. We have had some good snow here the last couple of days and I get home after dark, so I'll try to clean it off and take some pictures this weekend and e-mail them. Thanks for the help. Bob

There is a hidden serial number on the left side of the machine. It's on the front side of the left arm rest. Stamped in the metal Maybe you might call it the battry box Ben
