I had the same problem at my TD9, what I did was to adjust the valves. Runs fine after that. /Dennis

Just found miss. Idler gear wasn`t put on right n was loose. The cam gear is more common to be loose N cause a miss. Put a 15/16 on end of tmeing of injection pump. If it move`s 3/16 or more the cam gear is loose. Locktight should do it. Would like to find out the year on mine from serial no. If u know where to look let me know. Thank`s. Engine that is. I think engine was changed.

I just got done restoring a TD-6 last spring. i did the engine and everything else on the machine. when i bought the machine it also missed really bad. blew blue smoke and unburnt fuel out the exhaust. i applied air preasure into the cylinders through the spark plug holes. I made a adapter. preasureised each cylinder. I soon could hear bubbleing in the radiator. this ment a blown head gasket or cracked head. unfortuneatley mine had a cracked head infact severial cracks. the head was beyond repair so i found a head and had it rebuilt. total cost for just te head was 1700 bucks. then it was on through the resto fo the engine.$$$$$
