Anybody no anything about them? Good or bad. I've got a old HD11 ec Allis Chambers dozer now but found this one and I have been useing it for two weeks now, seems ok, on finals drives and trans. cab seems ok, Engines make lots of noise I think that just the 2 cyle motor though seems to push good, New under carriage on it grosser on pads are wore about a inch., Dealer is asking $10500 for it. Blade is lose on it though. 2 or 3 qt. of oil a day is all detroit engine like that? I guess what I'm asking is she worth $10500? sorry for dragging this out. Bob

those machines are bullet proof and indistructable.I`m guessing that it is an 82-20B with the V6 detroit motor in it.The planetrys are the same as whats in the bigger C6 euclid dozer before they changed it to the 82-30 terex(not to be confused with the 82-30B which is a bigger machine) so they won`t give you any trouble. You will have found by now after operating the machine that it is very user frendly and has got good balance for blade control.I`m guessing that if you have play in the blade it has the angle blade on it.The Detroit 2 stroke engines nearly alwayes burn oil so i wouldn`t be to concerned about it so long it has the grunt and power which they are known for.If you use good mufflers the noise is not as bad as most people make it out to be.The price sounds right and if you are using the machine now there will be no frieght cost also to make it cheaper again you will get a lot of work out of these terex machines so i guess what i`m saying is go for it

Thanks. You are right about balanced out. Its alot easer to finish with. Don't break over like some. Its Just a tilt blade on the Terex the pin on the push arms where they go though the blade are the one's I'm talking about. I going to buy it, I kinda like running it. Do you have any idea of the weight of the 82-20? It seem like a heavy dozer, I would guess over 40000lbs. Thanks again Bob

The bare shipping weight of the 82-20B,according to the service bible is 32,800 lbs so you would not be to far out with your guess of 40,000 lbs for an equipped machine

You need to tell the world what model Terex dozer it is before a value can be placed on it. A serial number may also be helpful.

Sorry about that it a 82-20 terex, I think the dealer said it is a 1977 model? I haven't found the tractor serial number on it yet? any idea where to look? There is some numbers on the cab tag. but I think there just the cab serial numbers. I cannot find alot of details about the old tractor on the net. I believe they made three a 82-20, 82-30, 82-40?

Try posting at www.IBDOZING.com on their Terex board, also.

Add your question to the antique caterpillar machinery owners club bulletin board, put off topic (O.T.) in the header, someone may be able to point you in the right direction,or give you some advice, has been some green (Terex) discussions there in the past.
